Speech Language Pathologist Masters
About The Position
The Speech-Language Pathologist assesses, diagnoses and provides intervention for children with communication disorders. The Speech-Language Pathologist is also involved in health promotion and prevention work in relation to communication disorders. The Speech-Language Pathologist will work in concert with other agencies and disciplines in providing services. Requirements
- Master of Speech Language Pathology (SLP)
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Knowledge in community development
- Ability to communicate with clients from diverse social backgrounds
- Ability to communicate with clients from diverse economic backgrounds
- Ability to counsel in individual, families and group settings
- Demonstrates ability to accept and implement change
- Ability to accurately assess addiction(s) and make appropriate recovery plans.
- Ability to communicate with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Ability to develop & maintain consulting relationships in multidisciplinary team
- Proven ability to collaborate and partner with a wide variety of stakeholders
- Demonstrated knowledge of best practices.
- Sound clinical judgement skills.
- Demonstrates ability in verbal and non-verbal communication techniques
- Maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality
- Ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external contacts.
- Registered/eligible for registration with the appropriate licensing body

- Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement
