About The Position

Ochsner Rehabilitation Hospital, in partnership with Select Medical, is hiring a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide per-diem, as-needed care at its inpatient rehabilitation hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana. The hospital provides care for people facing medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges related to brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputations, and multiple traumas. Compensation is $45.00 per hour.

The role includes an extensive orientation program. The position may offer a pathway to potential full-time opportunities. Part-time and per-diem employees may qualify for 401(k) benefits after reaching 1,000 hours during their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year, and have access to the employee assistance program. Requirements

• Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Certified BLS, or completion of BLS within the first 90 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language & Hearing Association.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify treatment plans according to patient needs and physician direction.
• Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients.
• Design functional treatment programs that support patients’ effective return to community activities.
• Educate patients, families, students, co-workers, and self.
• Perform other professional duties associated with patient care, development of discipline-specific therapy services, and program delivery.
• Coordinate treatment programs with other clinical and therapeutic services and available community resources.
