About The Position
Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation in Grapevine, Texas is seeking a compassionate and driven clinician to join our acute care team as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in the NICU. This PRN role is ideal for therapists who enjoy fast-paced environments, critical thinking, and daily collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. The position requires weekend availability.
Requirements
- Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist required.
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language & Hearing Association or eligibility for Certification pending professional experience required.
- Certified BLS or completion in the first 90 days of employment required.
- Acute care experience, minimum one year required
- Strong communication, critical thinking and teamwork skills
Nice To Haves
- NICU experience
- Level 3 NICU experience
- Competency with MBSS, strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans and deliver skilled interventions for patients in medical-surgical, ICU, telemetry and specialty units
- Participate in interdisciplinary discussions and make recommendations regarding NPO status, diet levels and instrumental assessments
- Document timely and accurately in the electronic medical record per hospital and regulatory standards
- Completing patient/family and staff education related to communication, cognition and swallowing, as appropriate
- Contribute to quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives within our team
Benefits
- Weekday PRN Rate:$60/hr
- Weekend PRN rate: $66/hr
