About The Position

Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital, a state of the art acute rehabilitation hospital located in Schenectady, NY and a member of St. Peter’s Health Partners, is seeking a Full-Time Speech Language Pathologist with pediatric experience to work with preschool students enrolled in the Head Start Program – a school-based program. Schedule: Monday-Friday 8a-4:30p

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved Speech Pathology Therapy program with a Master’s degree
• Current NYS Speech Pathologist license and registration
• Certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association
• Experience with pediatric patients is a must
• Flexibility, exceptional clinical reasoning skills, and excellent communication skills are essential.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of Clinical Fellowship preferred.
• Might consider a CF whose had strong school-based peds placements

Responsibilities

• Travel within the Schenectady area to treat children in a school setting.
• Deliver a comprehensive treatment program
• Identify and refer students for related services (audiology, medical, etc. as appropriate).
• Participates in the student’s annual review process
• Assess a student’s needs through the continuum of care and provides appropriate educational and treatment recommendations.
• Completes all documentation in accordance with regulatory and facility's compliance standards.
• Participates as part of an interdisciplinary team that works closely with parents and teaching staff.

• Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
• The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
