About The Position

Regency Hospital - Central Georgia is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. The Speech Language Pathologist provides compassionate care as part of patients’ treatment and recovery. This role is per diem/PRN/as needed in Macon, Georgia, with compensation of $55.00 per hour and a $5,000 sign-on bonus. The hospital provides an extensive orientation program, and the position may offer potential paths to full-time opportunities.

Requirements

• Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Certified BLS, or completion within the first 90 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language & Hearing Association.

Responsibilities

• Understand and address patients’ physical, mental, psychological, and social needs.
• Collaborate with associates to provide quality interdisciplinary patient programming.
• Evaluate communication skills and/or swallowing function and provide goal-oriented treatment to support patients’ communication and swallowing potential.
• Participate with fellow staff in monitoring the quality of services provided by the Rehab Therapy Department.
• Participate in peer review for staff performance and appraisals.
• Assist in developing the SLP role in programs and services and revising departmental policies and procedures.
• Help maintain an adequate stock of supplies.
• Share professional knowledge and experience, and alert the Manager to educational needs.
