Speech-Language Pathologist (PRN)
About The Position
Goodwin Living is hiring a PRN Speech-Language Pathologist for its home health team, serving Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William in Northern Virginia. The role provides therapy services to seniors in a life plan community, helping older adults maintain and improve their well-being as part of an interdisciplinary team. The Speech-Language Pathologist develops and implements the safe delivery of high-quality therapy services. Home health offers one-on-one patient care and autonomy in determining treatment approaches. Although the work is described as within a 9-to-5 framework, the position allows the clinician to design a schedule with patients. Compensation is $115 per start-of-care visit, $95 per evaluation, and $85 per follow-up visit, with an additional $30 per visit on weekends. PRN team members may access Daily Pay, tuition assistance, tutoring, a referral program, and free meals and access to a fitness center, pool, and other amenities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in speech-language pathology.
- Valid and current state Speech-Language Pathology license.
- Adult CPR certification.
- May need to lift, push, pull, and move equipment and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds throughout the workday; must seek assistance when needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide speech-language pathology treatments to address specific functional losses due to disease or injury, under an SLP’s Plan of Care and in accordance with the Commonwealth of Virginia Speech Therapy Practice Act.
- Communicate effectively to clarify the Plan of Care; report resident progress, adverse treatment effects, medical decline, or inability to follow recommended treatments; and suggest changes or progression to the Plan of Care based on resident-specific knowledge and experience.
- Document treatments and services according to Rehab Department protocols and Medicare guidelines.
- Coordinate resident treatment with nursing staff, physical therapists, and speech therapists.
