Speech Language Pathologist - SLP
About The Position
Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation in Grapevine, Texas is seeking a PRN Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join their multidisciplinary team at the Baylor Grapevine Day Neuro Clinic. This program focuses on helping patients with acquired brain injuries and spinal cord injuries achieve maximum independence and reintegrate into the community. Patients in this program often have complex medical conditions and present with a range of challenges including aphasia, cognitive-communication impairments, motor speech disorders, dysphagia, impaired mobility, gait, balance, and coordination deficits, weakness, decreased endurance, spasticity, abnormal tone, postural instability, and other neuromuscular impairments. They may also experience upper extremity limitations and difficulties with functional mobility and daily living activities. Patients receive intensive, team-based care with up to six hours of therapy daily, Monday through Friday.
Requirements
- Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language & Hearing Association or eligibility for Certification pending professional experience.
- Certified BLS or completion in the first 90 days of employment.

- Experience with TBI, SCI, and CVA preferred.

Responsibilities
- Provide speech-language pathology services to patients with acquired brain injuries and spinal cord injuries.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive patient care plans.
- Help patients achieve their highest level of independence and reintegrate into the community.
- Address aphasia, cognitive-communication impairments, motor speech disorders, and dysphagia.
- Work with patients experiencing mobility, gait, balance, and coordination deficits.
- Assist patients with weakness, decreased endurance, spasticity, abnormal tone, and postural instability.
- Support patients with upper extremity limitations and difficulties in functional mobility and activities of daily living.
