The Speech Language Pathologist evaluates and treats individuals with voice, fluency, speech, language and swallowing disorders. This role provides quality care in the evaluation and treatment of voice, fluency, speech, language, and swallowing impaired patients. The position requires documenting evaluation and treatment efforts, billing for equipment and services, and communicating effectively with patients, families, staff, physicians, and referral sources. The Speech Language Pathologist is also responsible for maintaining and upgrading clinical skills through continuing education, sharing knowledge with peers, and participating in patient care conferences, departmental programs, in-services, and meetings. Quality Improvement activities and demonstrating productivity are also key aspects of this role.
