About The Position
Adoration Home Health is seeking a passionate, dedicated Home Health Speech Language Pathologist to serve patients in the Gulfport, Mississippi coverage area. The SLP provides expert, patient-centered care in patients’ homes, working independently with team support. The position is PRN and offers flexible scheduling. The role focuses on evaluating patients’ speech and language difficulties, providing therapy and communication strategies, guiding patients and caregivers, and documenting clinical progress.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from a college or university with an accredited Speech Language Pathology program.
- At least one year of work experience as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Current, unrestricted Speech Language Pathologist license in the state where practicing.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) or CPR certification in accordance with state regulations.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients’ speech or language difficulties and determine whether continued therapy services are needed.
- Teach patients how to make sounds and improve their voices.
- Teach alternative communication methods, such as sign language, to patients with little or no speech capability.
- Educate and guide healthcare team members, patients, and caregivers on therapeutic exercises to support progress outside direct therapy sessions.
- Document clinical notes and patient responses to therapy, and submit visit documentation according to agency policy.
