About The Position
Macomb Post Acute Care Center is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our rehabilitation department. In this role, you will help residents strengthen communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities while working closely with a supportive interdisciplinary care team. You will work with both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care residents and collaborate with experienced PT, OT, SLP, and nursing professionals in a supportive clinical environment focused on quality resident outcomes. Requirements
- Active Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist license required
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and organizational skills
Nice To Haves
- Skilled nursing or post-acute care experience preferred but not required
- New graduates are encouraged to apply
Responsibilities
- Evaluate residents with speech, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing needs
- Create individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and resident goals
- Provide therapy focused on communication, cognition, and dysphagia management
- Track resident progress and adjust treatment approaches when appropriate
- Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapeutic strategies
- Collaborate with nursing, physicians, and rehabilitation team members
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation
