About The Position
This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus. A Speech/Language Pathologist shall plan, direct and perform Speech/Language Pathology evaluations and care plans individualized to meet the need of each patient. Care plans shall be developed that promote restoration of function, restoration and/or development of language and cognitive skills, education of the patient and their families about rehabilitation principles, restoration and/or development of oral skills and swallowing function and interventions that restore communication skills.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology required.
- Certification of clinical competency in SLP.
- BCLS within 3 months of date of hire.
- Texas License or temporary license is adequate with permanent license obtained by 6 months after date of hire.
Responsibilities
- Supervision of Speech/Language Pathology students, and volunteers.
- Scheduling of patient treatments.
- Multidisciplinary care planning.
- Patient education.
- Team support of other areas of service besides their assigned home department.
