About The Position

The Speech Language Pathologist will provide both school and clinic-based services, predominantly working with children and adolescents with ASD and other language disorders. This position reports to the Director, ABA Services.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree and certification in Speech Language Pathology
  • 2+ years (s) of experience in autism, developmental disabilities, and/or mental health-related behaviors
  • Knowledge of Autism, Emotional Disturbance, and other Developmental Disabilities

Responsibilities

  • Assess and identify specific speech, language, and/or communication needs for development of the IEP and treatment plan, to establish a baseline of students’ present skills for judging future progress, and to help plan and conduct treatment sessions.
  • Work with a multidisciplinary treatment team to consult and share information with teaching staff, parents, and residential staff (as appropriate) regarding assessment and treatment.
  • Collaborate with the IEP team and the Treatment team regarding the development of the overall language and communication program.
  • Work collaboratively with agency professionals to ensure that individuals served on the assigned caseload are provided the highest quality occupational therapy services available.
  • Complies with Code of Ethics and demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all clients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
  • Fulfills professional development requirements and other assignments.
