About The Position

Cross Country Education is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join their team for the 2026-2027 school year in Bellwood, IL. This role focuses on supporting an elementary student community (grades K-5). The SLP will conduct on-site therapy sessions, address diverse speech and language needs, work within a 3rd-grade cross-categorical classroom for specialized support, provide tiered interventions for students in the RTI/MTSS process, and manage compliance and paperwork for a caseload of 5-10 students.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
  • Valid Illinois Speech-Language Pathology License (IDFPR)
  • Active Illinois Professional Educator License (ISBE PEL)

Nice To Haves

  • Prior school-based experience is highly preferred
  • Proven ability to independently manage elementary-aged caseloads
  • Spanish conversational or professional language skills are a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site speech and language therapy sessions for an elementary caseload (grades K–5), addressing diverse needs including articulation, phonology, fluency, and expressive/receptive/pragmatic language.
  • Work directly within a 3rd-grade cross-categorical instructional classroom to deliver small-group or individualized communication support tailored to students with higher needs.
  • Provide daily Tiered interventions and data-tracking for a small group of general education students undergoing the RTI/MTSS support process.
  • Manage daily compliance, paperwork, and meeting scheduling for 5–10 speech-only students, serving as their primary point of contact.
