About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation in Dallas, Texas is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for an Inpatient PRN position. This role offers a solid work-life balance and involves providing comprehensive evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering skilled interventions for patients across various units including medical-surgical, ICU, telemetry, and specialty units. The SLP will also participate in interdisciplinary discussions, make recommendations regarding NPO status, diet levels, and instrumental assessments, and ensure timely and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record. Additionally, the role includes educating patients, families, and staff on communication, cognition, and swallowing, and contributing to quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives.

Requirements

Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist required.
Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language & Hearing Association or eligibility for Certification pending professional experience required.
Certified BLS or completion in the first 90 days of employment required.
Strong communication, critical thinking and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans and deliver skilled interventions for patients in medical-surgical, ICU, telemetry and specialty units
Participate in interdisciplinary discussions and make recommendations regarding NPO status, diet levels and instrumental assessments
Document timely and accurately in the electronic medical record per hospital and regulatory standards
Completing patient/family and staff education related to communication, cognition and swallowing, as appropriate
Contribute to quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives within our team
