About The Position

Peak Charter Academy in Apex, North Carolina, is hiring a part-time Speech Language Pathologist for 20 hours per week. The school serves students in grades K–8. The SLP provides specially designed instruction addressing students’ individual communication needs and supports their access to instruction and academic success. The role includes conducting evaluations, developing and monitoring IEP-aligned goals, delivering services through varied models, maintaining documentation and records, and collaborating with school staff and families.

Requirements

Master’s degree in speech-language pathology and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).
Experience working with at-risk student populations.
Experience in a school-based or pediatric environment.
Familiarity with IEP development, special education compliance, and collaborative service delivery models.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the administrator over special education to develop and coordinate daily service schedules, evaluation timelines, and annual IEP meetings.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including eligibility determinations, annual reviews, and progress monitoring discussions.
Conduct speech and language evaluations and contribute to assessment planning as part of the special education process.
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized speech-language goals aligned with each student’s IEP.
Provide specially designed instruction to meet students’ unique communication needs through a variety of service models.
Document service delivery, progress notes, and compliance-related paperwork in accordance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
Consult with teachers and families to support carryover of communication strategies across classroom and home environments.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
Perform other duties as assigned.
