About The Position
The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) position at Rehabilitation Institute of South San Antonio is a part-time role, working Monday through Friday for 4 hours per day. The Rehabilitation Institute of South San Antonio is a 36-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital dedicated to helping individuals recover from serious injuries or illnesses. The facility offers intensive, patient-focused rehabilitation services, including speech therapy, to help patients regain mobility, strength, and independence. As an SLP, you will be part of a mission to make communities healthier by evaluating and treating individuals with speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Current SLP license and ASHA certification.
- CPR certification required.
- Strong communication skills and clinical judgement required.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in acute or rehab setting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assess speech, language, and swallowing abilities.
- Develop and implement treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding therapy goals.
- Document evaluations, treatments, and patient progress accurately.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams on care coordination.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
