About The Position

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) at the West Valley Campus (K-8th Grade) is responsible for implementing student engagement strategies to ensure progress toward goals, conducting assessments and evaluations, writing and implementing individualized communication goals, and making data-driven instructional decisions. The role involves implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies, developing treatment plans, providing speech and language services to students with IEPs, and potentially supervising SLPAs. The SLP will also write and attend MET and IEP meetings, consult with various stakeholders, follow school-wide systems, and deliver services in a classroom integration model. Additional duties include coaching staff on communication goals, supporting Augmentative Communication Devices, aligning with classroom curriculum, communicating with students and families, ensuring paperwork compliance, participating in training, maintaining attendance, and completing Medicaid billing.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited school of speech-language pathology.
Valid Arizona fingerprint clearance card.
Arizona IVP Fingerprint clearance card.
Valid Speech-Language Pathology License.
ADE Speech-Language Pathology Certification.
Master’s Degree or higher.
Stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Nice To Haves

Experience delivering services in a school setting, in a classroom integration model, is preferred.
Experience and training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) preferred.
SLP-CCC Preferred.
Minimum of two years of SLP experience in a school setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Implement student engagement strategies that ensure adequate progress toward goals.
Conduct assessments/evaluations and collect data on students.
Write, implement, and progress monitor individualized communication goals for students on your caseload.
Engage in data-driven instruction decisions with the entire team.
Implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies throughout all practices.
Develops treatment plans, interventions, and/or educational materials for the purpose of meeting individualized student objectives and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Provide Speech and language services to students with IEPs.
Possible supervision of SLPAs with the implementation of speech and language services in the classroom, depending on caseload numbers.
Write and attend MET and IEP meetings as the SLP service coordinator.
Evaluate students in the area of speech and language as determined by the MET team.
Implement communication goals identified on student IEPs.
Consults with teachers, parents, other personnel and/or outside professionals for the purpose of providing requested information, developing plans for services and/or making recommendations and/or referrals.
Follow school-wide systems, rules, and positive behavior interventions.
Deliver services in a classroom integration model.
Coach classroom staff and SLPAs on the implementation of speech/communication goals.
Support for staff and students with Augmentative Communication Devices.
Support classroom curriculum as it relates to language acquisition.
Communicate effectively and proactively with students and families.
Responsible for paperwork compliance.
Accountability for growth and proficiency in IEP goals.
Participate in annual and ongoing staff training.
Regular and predictable attendance is considered an essential requirement of your position.
Complete Medicaid billing.
Additional duties as assigned.
May be required to coach, monitor, and mentor up to 2 Speech-Language Pathology Assistants working with students with disabilities.
