About The Position

This is a full-time, hourly position for a Speech Language Pathologist II specializing in Outpatient Pediatrics. The role involves providing evaluation, treatment, and follow-up services to pediatric patients with moderate to complex/atypical conditions, with an emphasis on fluency/stuttering. The caseload will primarily consist of pre-school and school-aged children, with opportunities to work with younger ages upon completion of additional competencies. The position requires completing initial competencies during a 90-day onboarding period and establishing individualized treatment plans based on patient evaluations. Clinical documentation, including patient records and billing, must be completed in accordance with departmental guidelines and professional standards.

Requirements

  • Licensed as a Speech Language Pathologist in the State of IL required.
  • Master’s degree in Speech Pathology from a university program accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
  • BLS/CPR certification from American Heart Association required.
  • Holds or is working towards a Certificate of Clinical Competence of the American-Speech-Hearing Association.
  • Pediatrics 2-3 years inpatient and/or outpatient setting

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with FEES and Outpatient pediatric VSS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete initial competencies during the 90 day on-boarding period
  • Provide evaluation, treatment, and follow-up services to the pediatric patient population with moderate to complex/atypical conditions.
  • Evaluates patients in the areas of articulation, expressive/receptive language, cognition, memory, voice, fluency/stuttering, etc., with emphasis on fluency/stuttering as these patients will comprise a portion of caseload. Caseload will be primarily pre-school and school-aged children; younger ages pending additional competency completion during first year of employment.
  • Establishes and administers individualized treatment plans based on patient evaluations continuously assessing effectiveness and modifying as necessary.
  • Completes all patient records, billing, and documentation in accordance with departmental guidelines and professional standards.
