The Speech Language Pathologist for Early Learning Partnerships will partner with Early Learning programs (serving children birth- age 5) in St. Joseph County to integrate speech therapy, in addition to providing First Steps Services. This position will support bringing speech therapy strategies into classrooms, while providing document support and modeling for teachers. This position will also provide training and education to teachers and families on developmental delays, and disabilities. The Early Learning Partnerships Speech Language Pathologist will administer developmental screenings as needed. As a First Steps Speech Language Pathologist, this position is responsible for implementing therapeutic support in the home and/or the child’s natural environment. The therapist will plan, implement, evaluate, and document each child's therapeutic plan to ensure proper programming; this will be done in conjunction with the child's parent/guardian during home visits. This Speech and Language Pathologist will be responsible for providing assessment, treatment and training on expressive and receptive language deficits, feeding skills, and oral motor functioning, in a variety of settings. They provide treatment plans and outcomes as reflected in each child's Individual Family Service Plan, using therapeutic modalities and procedures to maintain/increase skills within their scope of training. The Speech-Language Pathologist for Early Learning Partnerships will consult with other professional staff, family members and caregivers regarding results of evaluation and treatment and makes suggestions for a classroom, community, or home programming.
