About The Position

The mental health professional will assess and provide intervention to ensure student success and promote an exemplary education program fostering achievement for all students. Develops and promotes good relations among the school community: parents, staff, administration and other community members.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work.
  • Hold a valid Colorado Special Services License
  • Endorsements/Licenses: School Social Worker

Nice To Haves

  • NCSP preferred for psychologists
  • LCSW preferred for social workers

Responsibilities

  • Perform cognitive, social, emotional, behavioral and academic assessments to maximize student achievement and success.
  • Assess and provide intervention services to students who exhibit special needs and monitor progress.
  • Demonstrate familiarity of diagnostic tools and assessments for students of all levels.
  • Provide school-based, multi-tiered counseling, as well as, social, emotional and behavioral intervention services to individuals, groups, and parents; including ongoing direct services to students with developmental and emotional disabilities.
  • Prioritize time effectively, working with building administration to identify yearly specific goals and priorities for services.
  • Engage in individual and school-wide safety implementation; including crisis response, prevention assessment and intervention for students at-risk of harm to self or others.
  • Support programs designed to increase student achievement.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills through collaborative work with students, teachers, staff, parents and administrators.
  • Support and actively participate in a Professional Learning Community.
  • Work cooperatively and engage in active participation with teachers, teaching assistants and other mental health and special education personnel to provide intervention and consultation regarding the needs of students.
  • Develop positive working relationships with community agencies/resources.
  • Engage in ongoing professional growth and building/district professional activities.
  • Adhere to the professional ethical standards and guidelines developed by the National Association of Social Workers, the National Association of School Psychology, and/or the American Psychological Association.
