About The Position

HealthPRO Pediatrics is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist for an itinerant leave coverage position in Cortland, NY. In this role, you will support Early Intervention and Preschool populations across both home-based and center-based settings, depending on caseload needs. This is a temporary leave coverage position for approximately 3 months, with the possibility of permanent placement. The schedule is full-time (35 hours/week), but part-time is also considered. Compensation ranges from $40.00 – $45.00+/hour, translating to $81,900+/school year. Both direct and indirect service time are fully compensated, meaning documentation, meetings, or prep time are paid. Active CCC-SLP is required; CFYs are not considered for this specific coverage role.

Requirements

  • Active CCC-SLP (CFYs are not considered for this specific coverage role).
  • Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist, or license eligible (CCC-SLP only).
  • Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) (CCC-SLP).
  • Strong assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools, therapy equipment, relevant software, and electronic health record systems.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, voice, and swallowing abilities using standardized tests and clinical observations.
  • Develop accurate diagnoses based on assessment results.
  • Implement evidence-based therapies for speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders.
  • Monitor and adjust treatment plans.
  • Educate and support patients and families on disorders, treatment strategies, and daily communication improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of evaluations, progress, and treatment plans, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Work with healthcare providers to ensure effective patient care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings as needed.
