About The Position

Soar Autism Center is seeking a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to provide interdisciplinary early intervention services for young children ages 2-6 with autism. Our care model utilizes the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM), a naturalistic, developmental approach. The SLPA will deliver pediatric speech therapy under the supervision of a licensed SLP, collaborating with OTs, BCBAs, and psychologists to foster meaningful communication skills.

Requirements

• Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or related field meeting state requirements.
• Active state licensure or registration as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA).
• Active Speech-Language Pathology Assistants Certification (C-SLPA) from ASHA.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and relationship-building skills, along with a passion for pediatric speech therapy and interdisciplinary care.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with children preferred.
• AAC experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct pediatric speech therapy sessions for children ages 2–6 following treatment plans created by supervising SLPs.
• Implement functional communication interventions, including AAC strategies and devices, in an early intervention setting.
• Integrate speech and language goals into Soar’s ESDM-informed, play-based care model.
• Collaborate with RBTs, OTs, and other clinicians so communication goals are reinforced throughout each child’s day.
• Partner with families to develop meaningful goals and practical strategies they can use outside of therapy.
• Support children with autism through naturalistic, play-based communication interventions.
