About The Position

The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences is seeking a tenure-track faculty member at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The department seeks a dynamic candidate with a strong interest in the academic and clinical instruction of undergraduate and master’s students in our CAA accredited program in speech-language pathology who is committed to teaching excellence and to maintaining an active program. This appointment carries an initial two-year probationary appointment beginning with the 2027-28 academic year, August 16, 2027. Summer employment is possible.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences or a related field is required. ABD considered but completion of the doctorate will be required by June 1, 2028.
  • Candidates with demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and scholarship.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior university teaching and online teaching experience.
  • Expertise in speech sound disorders, aural rehabilitation, or voice disorders.
  • CCC-SLP/CCC-A is preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the principles of communication as a fundamental human right.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences based on program needs and in accordance with specialization.
  • Provide academic advising to students as assigned.
  • Participate in scholarly activity, student research, and professional mentoring.
  • Engagement in service to the department, college, university, and community.
