May 5, 2026 We announce the following SPECIAL EDUCATION vacancies in the Rochester Community Schools for the 2026-27 school year. Applications will be accepted until filled. SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST FULL TIME POSITIONS Districtwide. The job goal is to provide speech-language services to students, fostering the highest level of communicative competence to support student’s overall educational goals.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in speech and language pathology.
  • Meets state educational requirements including academic credit and practicum experience.
  • Approval from ASHA (American Speech Hearing Association)
  • Holds a State of Michigan, Speech-Language Pathologist License.

Responsibilities

  • Completes screening and levels of MTTS.
  • Provides initial and re-evaluations to assess and diagnose a variety of communication disorders, i.e., speech sounds, language disorders, voice, fluency, social communication.
  • Writes evaluations and develops measurable goals and programming to meet student needs.
  • Provides consultation to classroom teachers and other educational personnel servicing general education and special education students.
  • Provides direct service to students with communication disorders across education settings and programs.
  • Coordinates methods of teaching with classroom teachers and other educators working with the students with communication disorders.
  • Provides consultation to parents of children tested but not eligible for a direct service program
  • Provides consultation with parents regarding children’s progress and home programming.
  • Acts as a member of a multidisciplinary team with a specialization in speech and language and the impact of those skills within the educational setting.
  • Implements requirements set forth by the mandated Individualized Educational Planning Committee.
  • Maintains appropriate paperwork as mandated by state law.
  • Acts as a liaison between school and community agencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Special Populations, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Principal and/or Supervisor
  • Participates in Medicaid billing.
