About The Position

We are seeking a passionate and committed Special Education Teacher to join our team and support students throughout the current academic year. This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact by helping students with diverse learning needs grow academically, socially, and behaviorally. The Special Education Teacher will provide individualized instruction and targeted support to students receiving special education services. This role involves creating inclusive learning experiences, adapting curriculum, and using evidence-based strategies to support student progress. You will play a key role in ensuring students can access the general education curriculum while working toward their individualized goals. In this role, you will deliver specialized instruction across small-group, one-on-one, and inclusive classroom settings to support diverse learners. You will develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), while adapting lesson plans and instructional materials to meet varying student needs. The position also involves tracking student progress through data-driven methods and maintaining accurate documentation. You will collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and school staff, while supporting positive behavior strategies and social-emotional growth. Additionally, you will participate in IEP meetings and maintain ongoing communication with families to ensure consistent student support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a closely related discipline.
  • Valid Oregon teaching license with a Special Education endorsement, or be eligible to secure licensure.
  • Strong skills in classroom management.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team to promote positive student outcomes.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous school-based experience is preferred.
