About The Position
The SPED Paraeducator assists the Instructor in creating a positive learning environment that facilitates students’ personal, social, and intellectual development. The Paraeducator works closely with District staff and administration and is responsible to the Principal and Teacher. This position is at Oak Grove Elementary School and is listed as 7.0 hours per day. Starting pay is $15.70 per hour, plus $0.25 per hour.
Requirements
- At least 48 college credit hours, an associate’s degree or higher, or a passing score on the Para Praxis Test.
- Health and Inoculation Certificate on file in the Central Office after an employment offer is made.
- Knowledge of the operation of various office machines.
- Desire to continue career improvement by enhancing skills and job performance.
Responsibilities
- Assist in facilitating the personal, social, and intellectual development of students.
- Help establish a positive learning environment and respond to students’ individual needs.
- Ensure activities conform to District guidelines.
- Communicate and work effectively and efficiently with members of the school district and community.
- Respond productively and positively to change and frequent interruptions, and meet assigned deadlines.
- Operate classroom equipment appropriately as assigned.
- Work to implement the District’s vision and mission.
