Provide safe transportation for SPED and/or RISE students to and from home and campus daily while reducing operational cost. This role involves driving a SPED approved vehicle safely, in accordance with time schedules, and transporting students to and from their homes, a variety of school sites, and on field trips as assigned. The driver will oversee the loading and unloading of students, ensure safety belts are fastened, and maintain order and proper discipline of passengers. Responsibilities also include conducting daily vehicle inspections, reporting maintenance issues, maintaining records of mileage, routing, maintenance, and time schedules, and notifying appropriate individuals of any delays. The driver must maintain proper credentials updated according to DOT and IDEA policy, take direction and feedback well, have open communication with campus managers, and be able to self-reflect for continuous improvement. This role requires managing multiple tasks by prioritizing work, adapting to changing circumstances, and handling various tasks simultaneously within established time constraints.
