About The Position

The Spectrum and Regulatory Affairs Intern will assist with technical studies on the operation of wireless microphones sharing spectrum with other wireless systems. These studies will be based on modelling and simulation of relevant wireless systems and scenarios, requiring from the intern the familiarization with an existing Matlab-based tool, the implementation of specific models (radio propagation models, antenna patterns) and study scenarios in the tool, and the performance of sharing studies. This internship will be Hybrid, based in Niles, IL.

Requirements

  • In-process of a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in telecommunications, electrical engineering, computer science, or similar.
  • Programming experience with Matlab is required.
  • Applicants for this position must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Shure will not sponsor applicants for this position for work visas.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the relevant parameters and procedures for performing studies of coexistence between wireless microphones and other wireless systems.
  • Get familiar with a modular, Matlab-based coexistence simulation tool.
  • Implement specific radio propagation models and antenna patterns for coexistence studies.
  • Implement relevant coexistence scenarios.
  • Perform specific coexistence studies involving wireless microphones and other wireless systems.
