About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join its Specimen Accessioning team in Overland, Kansas. The role involves specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment, following established standard operating procedures. The successful candidate must be adaptable and willing to learn cross-training tasks in the department. The schedule is Monday through Friday overnight, on a per diem basis.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Comfort handling biological specimens.
• Ability to accurately identify specimens.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong data-entry and organizational skills.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to pass a standardized color-blindness test.

Nice To Haves

• Current or prior Labcorp experience.
• Six months or more of experience in a laboratory or specimen processing.
• Six months or more of experience in a medical or clinical laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
• Unpack specimens and route them to their respective staging areas.
• Accurately identify and label specimens.
• Pack and ship specimens to the proper testing facilities.
• Meet department activity and production goals.
• Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples.
• Enter patient information accurately and promptly.
• Resolve and document problem specimens.
