About The Position

Alline Laboratory, formerly known as Florida Woman Care Laboratory, is seeking a Specimen Processor - Accessioning to process cytology, histology, molecular, clinical, and microbiology specimens. The role supports laboratory technical staff through specimen receipt and triage, supply ordering and stocking, and cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining the laboratory workspace. Medical terminology and data-entry experience are preferred. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

Requirements

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Strong data-entry skills.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Two years of experience as a lab assistant, specimen processor, or in relevant laboratory work.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process specimens according to testing requirements, including positive patient identification and appropriate specimen collection container and transport requirements.
• Identify and accurately label specimens, then distribute them to the appropriate testing area.
• Perform clerical and administrative duties.
• Organize and monitor laboratory supplies to maintain appropriate inventory levels, as directed by laboratory leadership.
• Communicate specimen non-conformities to technical staff and/or laboratory leadership.
• Clean and maintain the work area, laboratory equipment, and supplies.
• Follow health and safety regulations when handling laboratory specimens.
• Comply with chemical hygiene and/or laboratory safety procedures.
• Comply with laboratory procedures, processes, and methodologies.
• Assist technical laboratory staff and leadership with additional duties as needed.
