About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor I to join its team in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania. The Specimen Processor performs clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment according to established standard operating procedures. The role supports accurate healthcare testing by preparing, identifying, routing, storing, and shipping laboratory specimens, as well as resolving specimen issues and meeting department production goals.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Comfort handling biological specimens.
• Ability to accurately identify specimens.
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Strong data-entry and organizational skills.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

• One year or more of experience in a laboratory, accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse setting.
• Experience with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
• Unpack specimens and route them to their respective staging areas.
• Accurately identify and label specimens.
• Pack and ship specimens to the proper testing facilities.
• Meet department activity and production goals.
• Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples.
• Enter patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
• Resolve and document problem specimens.
• Perform clinical specimen accessioning and sample sorting according to established standard operating procedures.
