Together, we’re improving health and improving lives. LabCorp is seeking a Specimen Processor to join our team in Irving, TX (75061). This role will work in our client's office setting to perform clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting and data entry in a fast-paced, production output environment according to established standard operating procedures, and be the face of the company. In addition, you will be provided opportunities for continuous growth within the organization.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Comfortable accurately identifying and handling biological specimens
  • Strong data entry and organizational skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Able to pass a standardized color blind test
  • Able to work in a fast paced / high volume work environment
  • Exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year or more lab specimen processing / accessioning experience
  • 6 months or more phlebotomy experience working in a clinical / hospital environment
  • Current or prior LabCorp experience

Responsibilities

  • Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
  • Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas.
  • Accurately identify and label specimens
  • Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
  • Meet department activity and production goals
  • Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
  • Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
  • Resolve and document any problem specimens
  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups (as needed)
