About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor I to join its team in Brick, New Jersey. The role supports clinical laboratory testing by preparing, sorting, routing, identifying, labeling, storing, and shipping specimens, as well as entering patient information and resolving specimen issues. Work takes place in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment and follows established standard operating procedures. This is a casual/PRN position with hours as needed. Start and end times vary within a schedule running from 6:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, with alternating Saturdays as needed. The pay range is $17.75–$20.00 per hour, plus shift differential.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Comfort handling biological specimens.
• Ability to accurately identify specimens.
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Strong data-entry and organizational skills.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

• One or more years of experience in a laboratory, accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
• One or more years of medical or production experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
• Unpack specimens and route them to their respective staging areas.
• Accurately identify and label specimens.
• Pack and ship specimens to the proper testing facilities.
• Meet department activity and production goals.
• Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples.
• Enter patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
• Resolve and document problem specimens.
• Perform clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry according to established standard operating procedures.
