About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor I to join their team in Richmond, VA. This role is responsible for preparing laboratory specimens for analysis and testing, unpacking and routing specimens, accurately identifying and labeling specimens, packing and shipping specimens, meeting department goals, preparing and storing excess specimens, data entry of patient information, and resolving and documenting problem specimens. The Specimen Accessioner will perform clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment according to established standard operating procedures.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED or equivalent
Comfortable handling biological specimens
Ability to accurately identify specimens
Experience working in a team environment
Strong data entry and organizational skills
High level of attention to detail
Proficient in MS Office
Able to lift up to 40lbs.
Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Nice To Haves

1 year or more experience (lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing or warehouse environment)
1 year of medical or production experience

Responsibilities

Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing

Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
