Specimen Processor - 9am to 2pm (Part-Time)
About The Position
The Specimen Processor is responsible for receiving and processing samples by scanning them into Meditech individually. This role also involves registering new employees using information from specimen collection forms, batching all received specimens for transport to Griffin Health’s reference laboratory, and tracking and handling unlabeled specimens or those with miscellaneous issues. The processor will confirm the accuracy of client and specimen details, examine specimens for adequacy, integrity, and appropriateness, and perform quality checks on all specimen collection forms. Effective hand-off with Specimen Collection Team Leads and Couriers is also a key responsibility.
Requirements

Responsibilities

- Site batch all received specimens so that they are ready to be sent to Griffin Health’s reference laboratory.
- Tracks and efficiently handles all unlabeled specimens or specimens with miscellaneous issues by adding them to the correct shared document.
- Confirms accuracy of client and specimen details.
- Examines specimens for adequacy, integrity, and appropriateness of specimen.
- Practices effective hand off with Specimen Collection Team Leads & Couriers.
- Performs quality checks on all specimen collection forms.
