We are seeking a Senior Specimen Processor to join our team. This role is responsible for processing samples that may require extra attention and experience, such as manifest or problem submissions from clients. Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and work experience required, preferably in a Science-related field.
6 months of specimen processing experience preferred.
Attention to detail and organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Reasoning and analytical skills to resolve issues.
Communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficiency in the English language which allows for participation in team meetings, accurate entry of data into company systems and understanding of written directions.
Positive, can-do attitude.
Data Entry skills.
Personal computer skills, including typing ability and proficient use of Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

6 months of specimen processing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Receives and prepares samples for distribution to the main laboratory.
Removes specimens from transport bags and splits as needed for multiple testing.
Retrieves and prepares add-ons and rechecks.
Accurately processes Avian/Exotic, manifest, and problem specimens at the expected rate.
Meets department production goals per hour and shift.
Records information about specimens, including labeling and numbering of slides, specimens, and submittals.
Enters specimen data into the database, scans tubes, processes ZLOOK, and performs other post-production duties as required.
Verifies the accuracy of information.
Completes Add Log/recheck specimens in a timely and thorough manner.
May assist Leads/Supervisors with training.
Assists other lab personnel with specimen storage.
Sorts samples for distribution throughout the lab (Coggins, cytology, etc.).
Ensures Turn Around Times (TAT's) are met.
Follows applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), including safety and quality procedures.
Maintains a clean and organized work area.
Restocks supplies as needed.
Participates in improving lab efficiency, quality, and cooperation.
Consults with senior peers on processing tasks to learn through experience.
Works on specimen processing tasks that are semi-routine in nature without deviating from SOP’s.
Participates in enterprise initiatives, special projects, and other duties as assigned.
All other duties as assigned.
Maintains the utmost ethical manner and holds others accountable to the values and standards of the organization.
Asks questions, seeks guidance, and reports concerns and/or violations of company policy or ethical standards.
