About The Position

The Specimen Processor is responsible for receiving and processing samples, registering new employees, batching specimens for the reference laboratory, and handling issues with unlabeled or miscellaneous specimens. This role also involves confirming client and specimen details, examining specimens for adequacy and integrity, performing quality checks on collection forms, and practicing effective handoffs with the Specimen Collection Team Leads & Couriers.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Receive and process samples by scanning them into Meditech individually.
• Register new employees using information they fill out & send on specimen collection forms.
• Site batch all received specimens so that they are ready to be sent to Griffin Health’s reference laboratory.
• Tracks and efficiently handles all unlabeled specimens or specimens with miscellaneous issues by adding them to the correct shared document.
• Confirms accuracy of client and specimen details.
• Examines specimens for adequacy, integrity, and appropriateness of specimen.
• Practices effective hand off with Specimen Collection Team Leads & Couriers.
• Performs quality checks on all specimen collection forms.
