About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor II to join their team in Columbia, TN. This role is responsible for preparing laboratory specimens for analysis and testing, communicating with client office staff, researching and resolving customer and specimen problems, meeting department goals, and accurately entering patient data. The Specimen Processing Specialist will perform clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment located onsite with one of our client offices.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED or equivalent
Comfortable handling biological specimens
Ability to accurately identify specimens
Experience working in a team environment
Strong data entry and organizational skills
High level of attention to detail
Experience with MS Office
Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Nice To Haves

1 year or more medical or patient facing healthcare experience
1 year or more experience in lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing or warehouse

Responsibilities

Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
Communicate effectively with client office staff
Research, troubleshoot and resolve customer and specimen problems
Meet department activity and production goals
Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
Accurately identify and label specimens
Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
Scrub requisitions to ensure samples are prepared and missing items are updated
Perform spinning/freezing/splitting and other special services as needed based on client
