About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor I to join its team in Sunrise, Florida. The role involves clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment, following established standard operating procedures. The position works Monday through Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., with rotating Saturdays from 5:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The role supports the accuracy and timely processing of healthcare tests by preparing specimens for analysis, routing and labeling them correctly, and documenting issues. Candidates should be comfortable handling biological specimens and able to meet department activity and production goals.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Comfortable handling biological specimens.
Ability to accurately identify specimens.
Experience working in a team environment.
Strong data-entry and organizational skills.
High level of attention to detail.
Proficient in MS Office.
Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

One or more years of experience in a laboratory, accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
One or more years of medical or production experience.

Responsibilities

Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
Unpack specimens and route them to their respective staging areas.
Accurately identify and label specimens.
Pack and ship specimens to the appropriate testing facilities.
Meet department activity and production goals.
Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples.
Enter patient information accurately and promptly.
Resolve and document problem specimens.
Perform clinical specimen accessioning and sample sorting in accordance with established standard operating procedures.
