About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processing Automation Specialist in Phoenix AZ. This role involves preparing and processing laboratory specimens for analysis and testing, operating and monitoring Propel automation systems, and troubleshooting system errors, alerts, and workflow interruptions. The specialist will investigate and resolve specimen issues using internal systems, collaborate with laboratory departments for timely specimen routing, and perform basic preventive maintenance while documenting consumable usage. Maintaining clean and organized work areas, including system setup and breakdown, is also a key responsibility. The role requires meeting departmental turnaround time goals and production expectations while adhering to all quality and safety standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Comfortable handling biological specimens
  • Ability to accurately identify specimens
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and interpret system alerts
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Strong data entry and organizational skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months or more of experience in a laboratory or specimen processing environment
  • 6 months/years’ or more of experience working with automated specimen processing or robotic systems
  • 6 months or more of experience using laboratory information systems (e.g., SIS, Storage & Retrieval)
