About The Position

Millennium Health LLC is an accredited specialty laboratory providing medication monitoring and drug testing services. The Specimen Collector represents Millennium Health and provides care and customer service to patients, clinicians, and the laboratory. The role collects and processes urine and/or oral-fluid specimens, coordinates between clinics and the laboratory, and performs related recordkeeping and supply-management tasks. Driving between multiple facilities may be required.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrated ability to use a smartphone and computer.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Ability to adhere to HIPAA, HiTrust, confidentiality, and compliance policies, procedures, and standards.
Ability to adhere to administrative, physical, and technical cybersecurity controls.
Physical requirements: sitting 60% of the time, walking 20%, standing 20%, and lifting up to 20 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Six or more months of experience as a specimen collector, or one or more years of experience in the medical field directly supporting patients.
Two or more years of customer service experience may be considered in place of medical experience.
Medical insurance or billing experience and/or familiarity with medications or diagnostic codes.

Responsibilities

Collect patient urine and/or oral-fluid (saliva) specimens.
Process and package collections for shipping.
Serve as an intermediary between the practice or clinic and the laboratory.
Record patient information, physician order details, and pertinent laboratory information.
Resolve specimen concerns involving billing or patient information in the ordering portal.
Order and maintain onsite collection-supply inventory.
Observe collection of Millennium Health specimens when applicable.
Drive to and from multiple facilities when required.
Adhere to HIPAA, HiTrust, confidentiality, compliance, and cybersecurity policies, procedures, and standards.
