Specialty Underwriter - TMS Primary Casualty (Naperville, IL)
About The Position
Philadelphia Insurance Companies, a member of the Tokio Marine Group, designs, markets and underwrites commercial property/casualty and professional liability insurance products for select industries. We have been in operation since 1962 and are nationally recognized as a member of Ward's Top 50 and rated A++ by A.M.Best. We are looking for a Specialty Underwriter to join our Underwriting Primary Casualty team! Under moderate direction and supervision, underwrites and markets assigned products by providing intermediate levels of risk assessment and technical underwriting expertise to determine underwriting acceptability.
Requirements
- 3+ years underwriting experience required
- Demonstrated marketing and agency development skills/experience required
- Analytical, results-oriented and possess a strong sense of urgency
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Nice To Haves
- Previous primary casualty underwriting experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Assists with gathering and analyzing information, applies appropriate underwriting techniques necessary to make an accurate evaluation of risk acceptability.
- Prepares and participates in marketing activities for business development and relationship building.
- Prepares underwriting submissions, making recommendations and/or decisions within established authority limits.
- Participates in the producer management process which may include, but is not limited to, premium collections.
