Sounds of Survivance is a weekly 2-hour program focused on promoting Native solidarity by amplifying the voices of Indigenous people connected through their shared struggle. The program emphasizes new sounds being created by Native people around the world and airs every Saturday from 7AM-9AM. This position will share hosting duties, rotating every other week and is open to residents of the Seattle area as well as The Bay area. The Specialty Show DJ is a regular, part-time position responsible for producing and hosting a Specialty Show on-air shift on a regular basis for public radio station KEXP. KEXP DJs both discover music, researching on their own and exploring new music rotation, and curate their shows to include a mix of up-to-the-moment releases and well-known artists from the KEXP library. They engage with listeners and donors, expanding the audience’s musical horizons. KEXP DJs also play a vital role in annual fundraising campaigns and events, helping listeners become donors and increasing engagement.
