About The Position

At STERIS, we help our Customers create a healthier and safer world by providing innovative healthcare and life science product and service solutions around the globe. As a Specialty Services Technician (SST), you will act as Trusted Advisor to STERIS Customers in the service of cleaning and conditioning large hospital sterilizer equipment, as part of a high performing national team focused on delivering Specialty Services to STERIS and competitor equipment. You'll provide on-site cleaning services and simple maintenance on complex mechanical, electro-mechanical and electronic units within hospitals and surgery centers. In this role, you will pro-actively interact and communicate concerns, updates, repairs, and service enhancement opportunities with Customers, Field Service partners and the contract administration team. This is a safety sensitive position.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3 years of work experience, at least 1 year of which must be technical or service-related work (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, construction, automotive etc.)
  • Customer service experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work flexible hours (mostly outside “normal business hours,” including overtime and weekends), with up to 75% travel overnight.

Nice To Haves

  • In lieu of High School Diploma or GED, must have an Associates degree, or related certifications or military experience, may be considered towards minimum years of work experience.
  • Field Service experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with Customers on preventative cleaning needs, schedule and equipment details (arrival, service status, completion, next steps).
  • Promote Sterilizer services.
  • Perform sterilizer cleaning functions, including changing chemical ingredients, making adjustments to necessary chemicals, maintaining appropriate pressures, handle/ transport/dispose of chemicals used in sterilizer cleaning, according to safety protocols.
  • Work closely with the Scheduling Team, Supervisor and Customer to plan efficient service routes within assigned territory, and adhere to all coverage, and service standards.
  • Responsible for Company vehicle, equipment, and supplies and parts inventory, including appropriate maintenance and escalation of issues for safe, effective operation.
