About The Position

Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, offering a wide range of care options. With over 40 types of primary and specialty practices, employees have opportunities to explore diverse interests or specialize. The Specialty Nurse role focuses on supporting specialized cardiovascular programs, initially concentrating on Resistant Hypertension, Prevention, and Renal Denervation Clinics. This position acts as a clinical resource for patients, providers, and the multidisciplinary team, coordinating care to enhance patient outcomes and access to specialty services. The nurse will identify, triage, and manage patients for advanced hypertension interventions and evaluate/coordinate referrals for preventive cardiology services. Flexibility is required to support additional specialty programs and provide cross-coverage for staff absences.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (B.S.N., M.S.N., or DNP/PhD) required from an NLN approved school of nursing
• 3 years of recent relevant acute care nursing experience, required
• State of Michigan Registered Nurse license, required
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support certification, required

Responsibilities

• Supporting the development, implementation, and ongoing operations of specialized cardiovascular programs.
• Focusing initially on Resistant Hypertension, Prevention, and Renal Denervation Clinics.
• Serving as a clinical resource for patients, providers, and multidisciplinary team members.
• Coordinating care across the continuum to improve patient outcomes and access to specialty services.
• Identifying, triaging, and managing patients who may benefit from advanced hypertension interventions.
• Evaluating and coordinating referrals to preventive cardiology services.
• Assisting in identifying, triaging, and managing patients who may benefit from advanced hypertension interventions.
• Providing cross-coverage during periods of staff absence, including vacations, PTO, and leaves of absence.
• Supporting additional specialty programs within the department.
