About The Position

This role is for a Specialty RN in Med Surg Tele with OBS. The cohort for this new specialty program will begin on August 10, 2026. The primary responsibility is the delivery of coordinated nursing care for assigned patients, including day-to-day management and supervision of clinical activities. This includes coordinating the plan of care with the client, their family, and the interdisciplinary team. The role also involves supervising and directing the activities of nursing and ancillary personnel, utilizing professional discretion and independent judgment. The Registered Nurse must understand and adhere to the California Nurse Practice Act, the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses, the ANA Bill of Rights for Registered Nurses, and the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice for Nursing. Responsibilities include observation and direction of patient lifts and mobilization, and participation in patient handling as needed. The position requires the ability to speak and read English sufficiently to perform job functions. Knowledge of standard office equipment and personal computer skills, including proficient use of Windows, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, internet, and email, is required within the first two weeks of employment. The nurse will perform other duties as assigned and follow Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws, and standards, upholding the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.

Requirements

  • As required by certification and/or licensure
  • 1 year of directly related RN experience in area of specialty
  • American Heart Association recognized BLS - Healthcare Provider
  • Current CA RN License
  • Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail).
  • Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job.

Responsibilities
