This position is primarily responsible for the delivery of coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients within an assigned unit and for the day-to-day management and supervision of the related clinical activities. The role coordinates the plan of care with the client, their family, and the interdisciplinary team. The Registered Nurse is also responsible for supervising and directing the activities of various levels of assigned nursing and ancillary personnel, utilizing professional discretion and independent judgment. The role requires adherence to the California Nurse Practice Act, The American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics for Nurses, the ANA Bill of Rights for Registered Nurses, and the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice for Nursing. The Registered Nurse shall be responsible for the observation and direction of patient lifts and mobilization and shall participate as needed in patient handling. Proficiency in speaking and reading English is required. Knowledge of standard office equipment and personal computer software skills, including proficient use of keyboarding and mouse operations, is necessary upon employment or within the first two weeks. The role also involves performing other duties as assigned and following Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws, and standards, while carrying out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.
