About The Position

Amgen is hiring a Specialty Representative or Senior Specialty Representative for a primary care sales territory covering Fort Lauderdale Central, Florida, including Tamarac, Plantation, Hollywood, Davie, and Lauderhill. Relocation is not offered. The role serves as a primary customer contact, sharing clinical knowledge of Amgen products with medical professionals and helping them navigate the payer environment. The representative implements marketing strategy and promotes Amgen products as directed by the District Manager. The level and title will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience for the territory.

Requirements

• Specialty Representative: Bachelor’s degree; or associate degree and 4 years of sales experience; or high school diploma/GED and 6 years of sales experience.
• Senior Specialty Representative: Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or non-sales clinical experience in a healthcare or scientific field; or associate degree and 6 years of such experience; or high school diploma/GED and 8 years of such experience.
• Ability to provide product and clinical information to medical professionals and support product access in a complex payer environment.

Nice To Haves

• Sales, marketing, or clinical experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, diagnostics, healthcare insurance, pharmacy services, healthcare, medical device, or medical supply industries.
• For Specialty Representative: some experience, pre-graduate sales training, or a proven track record of successful leadership under pressure.
• For Senior Specialty Representative: 3 or more years of experience.
• Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, cardiology, inflammation, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, bone health, respiratory, hematology, or infectious diseases and associated treatments.
• Advanced influencing and relationship-building skills focused on sales outcomes.
• Knowledge of the local market.
• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.
• Adaptability in sales planning and organizing, leveraging business, industry, and technical knowledge, communicating with impact, driving results, and cultivating internal and external relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide current, comprehensive knowledge of Amgen products and communicate their clinical benefits to medical professionals to support appropriate utilization.
• Drive territory sales by delivering branded sales messages, conducting planned programs, scheduling and following up on medical education programs, and meeting or exceeding sales targets through in-person and virtual engagement.
• Develop and manage customer accounts by tailoring interactions to customer needs, supporting product access, resolving or triaging reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
• Provide feedback on marketing strategy, analyze sales activity and territory performance, and develop territory plans with the District Manager.
• Partner with colleagues to share best practices and support learning and professional growth.
• Maintain enthusiasm for Amgen products throughout the sales cycle, build the brand, and keep the company’s patient-serving mission in view.
