About The Position

Amgen is hiring a Specialty Representative or Senior Specialty Representative to serve as the primary customer contact in a territory covering Tampa, Lutz, New Port Richey, and Odessa, Florida. The representative provides clinical knowledge about Amgen products to medical professionals, communicates product benefits, and helps customers navigate payer-related complexities. The role implements marketing strategy and promotes Amgen products as directed by the District Manager. Relocation is not offered. The role level and title will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Requirements

For Specialty Representative: Bachelor’s degree; or associate degree and 4 years of sales experience; or high school diploma/GED and 6 years of sales experience.
For Senior Specialty Representative: Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or non-sales clinical experience in a healthcare or scientific field; or associate degree and 6 years of such experience; or high school diploma/GED and 8 years of such experience.

Nice To Haves

Sales, marketing, or clinical experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, diagnostics, healthcare insurance, pharmacy services, healthcare medical device, or medical supply industries.
For Specialty Representative, some experience, pre-graduate sales training, or a proven record of successful leadership under pressure.
For Senior Specialty Representative, 3 or more years of experience.
Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, cardiology, inflammation, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, bone health, respiratory, hematology, or infectious diseases, including relevant diseases and treatments.
Advanced influencing and relationship-building skills focused on sales outcomes.
Knowledge of the local market.
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.
Adaptability in sales planning and organizing, leveraging business, industry, and technical knowledge, communicating with impact, driving results, and cultivating internal and external relationships.

Responsibilities

Provide current, comprehensive knowledge of Amgen products and communicate clinical benefits to medical professionals to support appropriate product utilization.
Drive territory sales by delivering branded sales messages, conducting planned programs, scheduling and following up on medical education programs, and meeting or exceeding sales targets through in-person and virtual engagement.
Develop and manage customer accounts by tailoring discussions to customer needs, supporting product access, resolving or triaging reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
Provide feedback on marketing strategy, analyze sales activity and territory effectiveness, and develop territory plans with the District Manager.
Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support continued learning and growth.
Maintain enthusiasm for Amgen products throughout the sales cycle while building the brand and keeping the focus on serving patients.
