About The Position

Union Beer Distributors is currently looking for a Specialty Portfolio Sales Representative to sell, promote and grow our ever-expanding portfolio in the world's most fast-paced, competitive, and demanding market. The Specialty Portfolio Sales Representative’s overall responsibility is to grow and capture market share in Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Demonstrate a deep knowledge base & understanding of craft beer & producers
  • Understanding of both on & off premise market segments
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Energetic, competitive, good humored, hardworking, and persistent disposition
  • 21 years of age or older to comply with federal and state regulations
  • Possess a passion for beer, superior customer service skills, and the ability to build relationships with customers
  • This role requires daily travel throughout the assigned territory; candidates must have reliable transportation to efficiently visit multiple accounts per day. A valid driver’s license is required. Car stipend provided.
  • Very strong time management and organizational skills
  • Strong comfort level with technology specifically Google Enterprise and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a solicitor’s license
  • Certified Beer Server
  • Ability and willingness to work independently

Responsibilities

  • Develop a rapport with assigned account base and promote the good will of the company
  • Grow brand awareness of local, niche, and artisanal specialty producers
  • Successful sale, distribution and placement of all products and product classes
  • Develop new accounts and new placements
  • Work with a broad range of co-workers across multiple sales teams
  • Effectively collect accounts receivable within credit policy
  • Conduct promotions in accounts on a regular basis or when required
  • Handle customer inquiries regarding credit, delivery, product information and other inquiries as they arise
  • Execute monthly goals as related to business activities
  • Maintain a regular schedule of weekly appointments with accounts in assigned area of Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island
  • Regular visitation with local brewery supplier partners to maintain product knowledge and sales growth strategies
  • Other duties as assigned
